Named for These Falls
Granite Falls — the waterfall over granite boulders that gave our town its name

Established 1791
Our Town. Our Shop.
Granite Falls is named for the granite waterfall that runs through town — a landmark locals have known for generations. It is also home to Starnes Heating & Air, where we have operated out of Sand Bar Road since the day we opened in 1998.
We know the older homes along Falls Avenue built in the 1960s and 70s with original furnaces that have since been converted. We know the crawlspace ductwork challenges near Gunpowder Creek where moisture from the river basin ages systems faster. The big companies from Charlotte would never think to check for that. We do, because we live here too.

Community First
We Are Your Neighbors, Not Just Your HVAC Company
When we tell you a repair is all you need instead of a full replacement, it is because we will see you at the grocery store next week and we want to look you in the eye. That level of accountability only comes from a truly local company — one whose crew lives in the same neighborhoods they service.

Frequently Asked by Granite Falls Residents
Can I stop by your shop on Sand Bar Road?
Absolutely. Our shop at 5866 Sand Bar Rd is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You are welcome to stop in to discuss a project, pick up a filter recommendation, or just say hello.
I have an older home near Gunpowder Creek with humidity problems. Can you help?
Yes. Homes near creeks and the river basin often struggle with crawlspace moisture that degrades ductwork and reduces system efficiency. We can inspect your ducts, recommend sealing or replacement where needed, and discuss dehumidification options.
How quickly can you respond to a breakdown in Granite Falls?
Because we are based right here, Granite Falls typically receives our fastest response times. For emergencies we aim to have a tech at your door the same day.
My Falls Avenue home still has the original ductwork. Is it worth replacing?
Homes built in the 1960s and 70s often have undersized or deteriorated ductwork that makes even a new system perform poorly. We always inspect ducts during estimates and can give you an honest cost-benefit analysis on whether replacement or sealing makes more sense.
